I wonder who Susie James is? does it mention who she was married too and her children? Carol Jo
Thanks Nancy for posting all the things on the James family. I appreciate it. Some of them I didn't have. On the orbits: Jones?,Charley Walter ,that is really Charley Walter James, son of George and Susanna James. On the dates of b/d , there has to be a mistake and so far, I haven't been able to find it..One of the reasons, is that I found Charley as a 3 yr old child in the 1880 census (I believe it was in 1880,don't think it was in the 1870), in the George James household. Again, thanks. Carol Jo

Hi Crystal... This books I have start 1900, go thru 1946. There are others, but I think the earliest is the 1900 one...anyway, a few Decker, but nothing that really connects...but maybe you will recognize a name: MRS. ZADA DECKER wife of Cornelius died 19 August 1909 and buried in the family cemetery. Linn Creek Revielle 27 Aug 1909. MAXINE DECKER, MRS. HOMER DECKER AND INFANT DECKER Funeral services were held January 23, 1929 for little Maxine Decker, 4 years old making the third death in less than a week in the Homer Decker family. An infant was buried on Jan 17 1929 followed by the funeral of Mrs. Decker on Jan 21, 1929 and the little daughter two days later. Both Mr. Decker and her daughter were victims of pneumonia. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Frank Moneymaker and the burials were in the McGinnis Cemetery. Only a son, Clifton, six years old, survives with the father. Also surviving Mrs. Decker are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. P. McGinnis, a sister and two brothers, her grandmother, Mrs. J. M. McGinnis, and two aunts, Mrs. M. D. Allen and Mrs. S. C. Allen The Richland Mirror, Thursday July 16, 1915 MRS SUZIE DECKER ..after suffering from cancer for a long time died at her home the second of July and was buried at the Wair Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Decker was 52 years old and gave her life to Christ while very young. She leaves a husband and several other relatives to mourn her death. FOUR YEAR OLD GIRL WAS KILLED PLAYING WITH GUN Ruby Decker, 4 year old daughter of Mr. and Mr.s Lee Decker, of near Pease Mill, died Saturday evening at 8:45 three hours after being accidentally shot in the chest and arm, when she and her brother, Eugene, 6 yrs, and sister Eunice 7, were playing with a shotgun. The accident happened while Mr. and Mrs. Decker were milking. The children were at the house and evidently took the shotgun from its place in the corner of the room and were playing with it. The child was immediately rushed to the home of Mr. and Mr. Oscar Gourley here, where she received medical attention. The charge of shot broke the girl's left arm and went through the chest, piercing the lungs. According to Dr. P. Thompson, the attending pahyscian, the wound indicated that she was shot from in front. The funeral services were held Sunday Afternoon at Cubs, the Rev. John Moore officiating. DIED: 20 AUGUST 1932 DEPRESSED BY REJECTION OF ARMY, SLEEPER MAN KILLS SELF: (1944) Seeming unusually depressed since his rejection for military service recently, Rethal Archer Decker, 33, ended his life Sunday by slashing his throat and wrists. Decker, who lived with his parents on a farm near Sleeper, had been in failing health for several years. He was found by his father in the yard early Sunday morning after his parents noticed that he had been absent for some time. Still breathing, he was rushed to the Wallace Hospital in Lebanon, where he died several hours later. He was born July 23, 1911, and had spend his entire life in the country. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanton Decker, and a sister, Avis, of the home Funeral services were held at 2 P.M. Tuesday from the Christian Church in Stoutland with burial in the cemetery there under direction of the Holman Funeral Home. MRS. MATILDA DECKER DIES AT AGE OF 78 YEARS: Matilda Frances Dyer was a daughter of Daniel and Malinda Dyer and was born June 3, 1867. She was united in marriage to Maron Henry Decker Dec. 25, 1895. Four children, Melvin, Claude, Francis and a daughter who died at birth, were born to this marriage. Mrs. Decker is survived by her husband and one son, Francis; two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Doss of Stoutland, and Mrs. Bertha Broderick of Chicago; and two brothers,Jacob Dyer of Woodland, Calif., and Charles Dyer, of WallaWalla, Wash. Her sons, Melvin and Claude, preceded her in death. She was converted and joined the Christina church in her thirties, living a devoted Christian life. She always attended church as long as she was able and always always ready to help her neighbors and others friends in time of sickness and death. Aunt Tilda (as she was better known) and Uncle Marion took several old people into their home and took care of them until their death. They also gave love and care to several oprhan children at different times. Mrs. Decker died Nov 9 at the age of 78 years. She will be greatly missed by a host of relatives and friends. (can't find year of death) Hoping it helps, NANCY .... ^--^ .....
