    3. 2nd book: 1930-1932 MRS. CLARA MAY CAFFEY died on Friday, Feb 13, 1931 in her home in Pueblo, Colorado, at the age of 22 years, 1 mo, 13 days. The body was brought to Lebanon, to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hutton, on West Hayes Avenue and funeral services were held on Tuesday at 11 am in the Baptist Church, Rev. J. D. Chappelle officiating. Interment was in Lonesome Hill Cemetery. Clara May Davis was born Dec 31, 1908 at Leasburg, Missouri. She was married to Ernest Caffey on April 8, 1926 and later removed, with her husband, and children to Pueblo, where the remaining years of her life were spent. She is survived by her husband and two children, Maxine 4, and Richard 2 yrs old. Others surviving are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Davis of Valley Park, two sisters, one brother and a host of other relatives and friends. Clara May was an atheistic Sunday School worker in her younger life, true to her friends and to every moral and social claim that her community made upon her life. She was converted after her last sickness began. She was exceedingly happy in her short but eventful Christian life, nearly all of which she spent in singing and praising God and in most earnest Christian appeal to her husband and others around her to train her babies in the fear and love of God that they too will some day come to join her in the mansion in the skies. 3. Hi Robert and List Are you familiar with the two books...THE HISTORY OF LACLEDE COUNTY, MO One done in 1979, the other in 2000...? There is more than one family sketch on the HARRIS name. These are the names of those with family history in the 1979 book: THE EPHRIAM HARRIS FAMILY THOMAS DANIEL HARRIS NATHANIEL ANDREW HARRIS ROSCOE HARRIS SIMION WESLEY HARRIS In the year 2000 book: FLORINE YEARY HARRIS These books are available through the Laclede County Genealogical Society, and I think also through the Laclede County Historical Society. 3. I have found that my Thomas Honssinger ,after the death of his wife, Mary Faries Honssinger , married a Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson on April 16, 1871 in Laclede county MO. I was told that this marriage ended up in a divorce. This Elizabeth Johnson is not on my Johnson line. Is there anyone on this list that might be able to solve this mystery for me. Thomas remarried in 1878 to Sarah E. Simpson. Is there a list that contains divorce records? Thanks Carol Jo

    1. James (David??) KILLMAN b. abt 1851
    2. Mary Henderson
    3. Hi, Ross! Thanks so much for your offer to see if you can find any leads!!! I'm really at a dead end here, and would love any suggestions. Here's what I have: My great-grandfather was Alfred Lawrence KILLMAN. He was born 1-15-1873 in Missouri - either Laclede or Pulaski county. His sister, Sarah Elizabeth KILLMAN was born 4-25-1870 in Pulaski County, MO. I have their parents as being Mary Ella BROWNFIELD b. 9-12-1838 in Pulaski County, MO. and d. 6-21-1919 in Roundup, Musselshell, MT. and James (David??) KILLMAN (I have a fair amount of info on the Brownfields, so they're not really my brickwall.) Mary Ella BROWNFIELD was married 5 times -to Francis PAGETT, HESS, James KILLMAN (my brick wall), Charles VANGORDON, and Thomas STANTON. I don't know what happened to all her husbands - if they died or were divorced. Mary Ella BROWNFIELD shows up in the Roubideaux Twp., Pulaski Co., MO 1870 census with James KILLMAN, along with Sarah Elizabeth KILLMAN (Alfred Lawrence wasn't born yet.) It shows James KILLMAN's age as being 19, which means he was born about 1851. (There apparently was quite an age difference between James and Mary Ella - a 32 year old woman with a 19 year old man - seem a little different) But in the 1880 census, Mary Ella's household doesn't reflect James, so he seems to be out of the household by that time - dead, divorced??? There's another James KILLMAN in the 1870 census: James Killman age 50 b. TN Farmer with Matilda age 45 b. TN, and Thomas 22 b. TN, Nancy A. b. TN 18, Elizabeth 16 b. TN, John 14 b. MO, Robert 12 b. MO and Missouri 9 (female) b. MO. In 1880, the census shows the other James with Matilda and John J. and Robert C. in Roubideaux Twp., Pulaski County, MO. This James could be a relation to my James, possibly even his father, but I can't connect the two. The 1870 census indicates that James Killman was born in KY. However, in the 1880 census, Sarah Elizabeth and Alfred Lawrence Killman are noted as having a father born in TN. Or was the "father" merely the most recent husband of Mary Ella Brownfield, and not James Killman? The 1920 Multnomah Co. Oregon census has Alfred Killman listing the birth place of his father as being KY. The death certificate of Alfred Lawrence Killman lists father as Dave Killman, birth place KY. My grandfather also told me that his grandfather was David KILLMAN. And I've heard that another older KILLMAN also called him David, and not James. An older relative told me that the KILLMANs were proud of the fact that they lived not too far from Abraham Lincoln's folks in KY. So that's another clue. The death certificate of Sarah Elizabeth lists father as "Mr. Kilman" birthplace unknown, maiden name of mother unknown, birthplace of mother unknown. (Close family, huh :-)) Alfred Lawrence KILLMAN married Lucinda Rose BENCH who was born 4-4-1873 in Brownfield, Laclede, MO. Sometime around 1906-1908, the story goes that Alfred KILLMAN was accused of stealing a cow, and when the law came after him, he shot the sheriff's deputy in the eye. Then he and his wife fled to Oregon. They lived the rest of their lives in Oregon, and for a short while Montana. I would love to find out the true facts of what happened in Missouri between Alfred KILLMAN and the law. Maybe a newspaper article would shed some light on Alfred's family background. Whew - well, now you might be sorry you asked :-) Anyhow, I'd love any thoughts on where I should go from here. Thanks much!
