I've submitted several times over the last two years with nothing ever being added even after the administrator emailed me to tell me they would. I think its been poorly kept and is in need of someone that will take on the responsibility and duties in an expeditious manner. I have a lot I could add but I don't seem to have the luck you did. The website just sits there and collects dust in my opinion. Larry ================ ----- Original Message ----- From: "B. Larry, If you have documentation that would be valuable to other researchers, why don't you consider post it to the Message Board, or the Mailing List in addition to submitting it to the MoGenWeb site? You can add attachments such as photos, scanned documents, etc. to the message board posts. At least that way it would be "out there" for other researchers to find pending the MoGenWeb coordinator getting it added to the site. I'm the coordinator of the St. Francois County MoGenWeb site. St. Francois County is a smaller county than Jefferson County, and you would not believe the huge backlog of submitted items I have to add to the site. Sometimes it gets so overwhelming I don't know where to start. These sites are run by unpaid volunteers and getting this stuff organized and online takes a lot more time than most people realize. I have to work full time at another job which, coupled with family obligations, sometimes leaves me with very little time and energy to work on the site on a daily or even weekly basis, even though I would love to have the time to. I emailed the state coordinator several months ago about the status of this site, but I received no reply whatsoever. The ~only~ thing that has been updated are the pictures that were referenced below. I have tried to contact the site administrator with no results. I have submitted information, with no results. I know several others who have also tried, and had the same experience. We (as a group) are missing out on a ton of information that has been submitted and would be so useful, but without someone reliable administrating, nothing can be done. And without Mr. Kuhlman's cooperation, or the state's help, nobody can "take over" the site either. I truly don't understand why, if he no longer wants to administer the site, he hasn't just told someone, so that somebody else can take over. It ~is~ a wonderful website. But it could be so much more! He is also "supposed" to be administrator of the Jefferson County Historical Society webpage, but they are in the same situation. They cannot update their info, etc....because he won't answer their emails, etc.... It is very frustrating!
