The James McCulloch, who was the husband of Charlotte Boggs, was a brother to Hugh McCulloch. Charlotte and Mary Esther Boggs were sisters. Robert and Elizabeth Boggs of Abbeville SC were the parents of Charlotte and Mary Esther. This information comes from the wills of both Robert and Elizabeth Boggs, which were probated in Abbeville Co. (old Dist. 96) SC. I didn't know that Charlotte Boggs was the second wife of James McCulloch the elder. I have only found records in SC which led me to believe she was his only wife, but I could be wrong. James McCulloch, son of Hugh, and my ancestor was married twice, his 2nd wife was Amanda Lee Alvoid. On the 1850 census it shows that she had a 4 year old son, from a previous marriage. I am not sure which Lee family she was a member of.
