I believe that I was given the wrong name for the author, since learning that the Woodruffs wrote other works on Jefferson county. I'll keep searching for the book with the name Woodruff now. Jeptha KITE was born about 1792 in England. He brought his wife and then 5 five children to America in 1832. They were in Jefferson Co. by the 1840 census.His son Richard was born in England in 1822. Jeptha, Sr. also had a son Jeptha, Jr. who was in the Civil War and died shortly after his own son Jeptha was born in 1870. Jeptha's son Richard also had a son named William Jeptha born 25 Jan. 1848 and died 8 Oct. 1876. If anyone needs info on the KITE family, I will share what I have. Thanks, Becky in CA
