We would like to invite all researchers, to join us at the Park Hills Library (St. Francois Co.) for Genealogy Night, which is held on the first Monday of every month, from 6pm to 8pm. Genealogy Night is an informal get together of researchers who share stories, info, and researching techniques. Those that have joined us in the past, know that we do alot of talking and laughing with all the sharing. Beginners and seasoned researchers are very welcome to join us. We are working on building up the genealogy dept. in the library, and have recently added 20 new rolls of microfilm and quite a few new books to aid researchers. Because of donations, we will soon be adding more microfilm and books to the library's collection. We are asking researchers to submit copies of their family files, documents, etc. to the library and we have started a Surname File, to aid those searching for new cousins. The library has 2 microfilm readers and 4 computers with internet access and a subscription to Ancestry. All copies made, on Genealogy Night, are free, thanks to the wonderful librarians. Also, every Monday evening (5pm to 7pm), we are at the library to assist anyone that needs help in their research. We hope to see you, this Monday evening, May 2nd, at the library!
