    3. Lisa, Thank you for your input. Yes, indeed it seems to be someone they admired. I wasn't aware of the Decker and Metford name. I've done a new search on google. I have found a Metford Mountfield (1912-1979) connection in Jefferson Co., too. There must be somebody in Jefferson Co. who made quite a bang whose name was Metford. Maybe you know the answer, but do the Huskeys have any association with guns professionally. I ask that because Wm Ellis Metford (1824-1899), m 2x great-grandmother's brother was involved in Arms research in the 19th century and was quite well known in those circles. There was a Metford rifle, then Lee-Metford rifle, later replaced by the Lee-Enfield. But it's so weird that Metford would show up so specifically in Jefferson Co. The only other place it shows up is in Virginia where there was a 17th century Metford settler and in upstate New York (Metford Frost, but eventually I made that connection to an English marriage, too). Any idea where I can pursue the Decker line? You never know!
