I have a great aunt, Anna Arten Nephew who was married to Fred Paul. I can't find where they were married. Anna was living in Washington County, but I was always told she and her husband Fred lived in Herky. They had a son, Fred Paul, don't know what happened to him. Anna was born 1886. Per Jefferson County Record Newspaper, Hillsboro, Mo. February 22, 1912, found an obit with the help of Ladonna, Jeff Co. List Admin stating under Festus heading: "Mrs. Fred Paul of Herculaneum committed suicide last week. Her remains were brought to Festus and laid to rest in the Gamel Cemetery. It is said family troubles was the cause. Her mother committed suicide a few years ago." Off of the Jefferson County website I found Anna Paul's date of death February 15, 1912. Fink Funeral Home. I was always told by my gramma, Anna's sister, and other family members that Fred was having an affair while they were married and that's why she committed suicide.
