I am researching the Toulouse/Tooloose/Toolooze name and all connected Jefferson County names; O'Neil, Carpenter, Kempe, Statzel, Metz, Elders, Crutcher, Rouggly, Whiteside, Politte, Ogle, Smith. GGrandfather Theophilis Toulouse came to Jefferson Co. 1845-50 with his mother and 3 brothers (Louis, John & William). They lived on Plattin Creek. My brick wall is what happened to his mother (Mrs. Duncan (Eliza) McKenzie) sometime between 1854-1860??? Any contact appreciated. THANKS!
