Years ago, my sister and I were driving around in Washington/Jefferson County back behind the Washington State Park area and were looking for some cemeteries or graves of family members. We pulled over and talked to some lady who told us where we could walk, but to never come back there on the weekend when her father or father-in-law was there or he would throw us off the property. It had electric fence around it and my poor sister kept running into it getting zapped. We found some graves that had been destroyed. Then there was this one grave that was awesome. It was a huge, flat stone, probably 6 feet or so in length and maybe 3 feet wide with a chain around it. On the grave it said, "In memory of John Pollett, graduated in 1858 from the Scientific Department, Dartmouth College, deceased October 1, 1860, age 27 yrs. This stone is erected by his classmates." I have no idea where we were, just back behind Big River somewhere. I could kick myself for not having a camera. Didn't know if any Politte's possibly were looking for this or not.
