In answer to the question about location of the Jefferson County MOJEFFER-L archives, this web page http://lists.rootsweb.com/index/usa/MO/jefferson.html has a link to both browsing and searching the mailing list archives. And it's true of the MOJEFFER-L archive that search results include instances of the word in both the subject and body of the messages.
