Well, this request gave me a good laugh. It seems quite a stretch to ask the list to name the person you spoke with, as only you (and she/he) would have access to that information! If you follow this link, it will get you the name and email of the person who normally handles probate record photocopy requests. http://www2.jeffco.edu/library/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=103 &Itemid=104 May I suggest you copy this link into your "Favorites" folder, so it will be available for future reference? It might also be wise to take note of who you speak to regarding any genealogy-related request. For example, it might be valuable to the History Center librarian to know who at the library told you Jefferson College does not handle requests for probate records. Another way to find this link is to search the archives of the MOJEFFER list. It appears in many of the threads related to the subject "Probate Records". To insure you have the information you need (other than requesting the list to supply it time and again), make a folder in your email system to store relevant messages for future reference...your own personal archive. That way, you may be able to solve information requests on your own, using the list as your "memory bank" only when your own efforts to retrieve readily-available data fail. It is always a good idea to thank the people who help you with your requests off-list, so as not to clutter the archives with such messages. ----- Original Message ----- From: "richard van wagenen" <rckhound68111@yahoo.com> To: <MOJEFFER@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, January 22, 2007 12:38 PM Subject: [MOJEFFER] Probate Records > Back in November, I ordered a probate record from > Jefferson College.
