Ok this Graham family stuff has had me at the computer all evening and digging thru my misc. files. And of course....I got sidetracked... I need to know where I can find divorce records for Jefferson Co ca 1900-1907. Turns out my grandmother's first husband, Ben Merseal, died 3 years after she married my grandfather. Years ago I found the marriage record for Martha Kyle and Ben Merceal in Jeff Co records...the original books, they do not show up in the index for some reason. So I know they were married. They had 3 kids, Emma, Stephen, and a young child who died at around age 2, possibly named Benjamin. Grandma was working as a cook in St. Louis at the Jefferson Hotel (so Grandpa always said, but who the heck knows...so much else about her was fabricated due to her parentage). They married in June 1908. The story was that Ben Merseal was an alcoholic and died in the MoPac Hospital. Well, he died in DeSoto and Emma's 1/2 brother Mike Kyle was the informant on the death certificate. Sometimes it's a good thing these people are long dead so I can't stir up a hornet's nest asking questions. So...divorce records online or an index for that time period? ________________________________________________________________________ Check out the new AOL.
