    1. [MOJEFFER] Emigration Museum - Hamburg, Germany
    2. An emigration museum called "Ballinstadt-Port of Dreams" opens July 5, 2007 in Hamburg, Germany. It will commemorate the 5.5 million people who left for America from Germany's largest port. Their descendents include Johnny Weismuller, Henry Steinway, George Gershwin and Angelina Jolie. The museum is named for a prominent early 20th Century Hamburg Jew, Albert Ballin- friend of Kaiser Wilhelm II, Churchill and admired by Bismark. The Nazis strove to destroy him by smashing his statues, erasing his name from documents and banning literature about him. He invented the first vacation cruise, built the biggest ships in the world, and served on them what became known as the "hamburger." The museum is part of Europe's largest urban construction project in Hamburg's Hafen-City (Harbor City) District. The district will eventually replace the current "America Center," and include an aquarium, philharmonic hall, maritime museum, etc. by the time it is finished , about 2020.
