Please read a bit of history about the following families, Murrell, Taylor Foy and Sims that later were located in the Ripley Co MO area that appear to have migrated from north parts of MO. I am trying to find which family leads to William A Murrell born in 1820 in MO .. Especially interested in Hordey/Hardy, Briggs, Sam, Isaac, James, Eli and William Murrell that were in MO 1819 to 1830 in WASH, ST, and Wayne, Mari, counties.. or any information about where they might have been.. I am seeking any information on the families that were in Limestone County in early 1800. Some were there as part of the Sims Settlement, others may not have been. Benjamin Murrell b 1760-d 1835 in Weakley Co TN. Wife Mary Sims, and children. Appreciate any information on this couple, children and movements before and after signing the Intruders Petition in 1810 in AL. ASA Taylor also of Limestone Co and area. Who were his parents, children, wives. Simon Foy and wife Charlotte Sims, sister to Mary Sims. Their children, including Lucinda Foy. Also signer of Intruders Petition, and moved to Weakley Co TN by 1835, where were they between 1810-1835? And the Murrells, William, Richard, Isaac, and Benjamin, all signers, of the Intruders petition. Any other Murrells that might lead to information about William A Murrell born about 1820. William A Murrell first is located on the Ripley Co MO census in 1850, with his wife Lucinda FOY. Where were these families between 1810 and 1850? Did some of the families remain in AL that might have bibles or other documents that would identify their siblings, and ancestors? Some of the families migrated to Weakley Co where some were founders of the Knob Creek Church near Dukedom, TN. Later Asa Taylor and Simon Foy moved to Graves Co KY. Simon Foy died there. Asa Taylor moved to Randolph Co AR near the MO state line and founded the Glaze Creek Church with some of the Foys and Johnstons where were in or descendents of the Limestone families. MY main interest in in the Murrell/Merrel/ Merrell/Murel/Meril/etc. family and finding the parents of William and or his siblings. The family appears to have become separated before the Civil War and never got back together. I have not been able to locate any information to know which Murrell line he belonged. Per the census reports which list William A Murrell he was born in MO. Per family bible he was born December 24, 1820. There was an Isaac Murrell in MO in 1830. Also, in MO in 1830 Eli, Hordey/Hardey , Briggs, Sam, and James Murrells. I have not been able to identify their families. There was a William Murrell in MO by 1819-1826, but because MO was not a state until 1821 information fragmentary. Is this William one of Benjamin's children or grandson or the William Murrell signer of the Intruders petition. Patricia Murrell Mata pjmm@tcac.net
