Hey Joe - You are doing a great service here with these small cemeteries - however - you may want to check with the St. Louis Genalgocial Society and the Jeffe Co Society before pursuing more. Many of these have already been transcribed - some of them years ago. The Victoria Cemetery was done about 15-20 years ago by volunteers from the STLGS. My great grandparents are there, (John and Germima KYLE)and their stone, legible at that time, is now illegible, and therefore was not on your list. So they have been "missed" as many others may have been too in 2001. Thanks! Linda

I have been cruising the cemeteries in search of the lost & forgotten men who served in the Civil War. I have found that in these older lists, some of the information on these graves are incorrect, or just plain missed. They are great for those graves that are no longer around, if correct, but they are not posted anywhere on the web, where people not living here in Jefferson County, can easily access them. I have been asked to transcribe these cemeteries, since I will be there anyway, so I have been backtracking to those that I've already been to. I knew that your Kyle relative was there, by corresponding with Charlene Hamman Konersmann, but not seeing the info on the stone, it was not posted on my list. The reason I knew he was there, is because I'm looking for Henry Kyle's burial location. He was in the Civil War & I would like to find his missing grave. Any idea where he might be? I guess it would be easier to get these older lists & post them, in fact, I have files given to me by others, who recorded many cemeteries in the 50's. I just hate putting info out there, without knowing for sure that they exist, but that's just me. Victoria may seem small, but I put a few hours into walking around & recording that one, plus I sometimes meet very interesting & friendly people while in the cemetery. I have the De Soto city cemetery about half done, now that one is huge! Perhaps I'll post what I have now & post the rest when I finish. Desoto Joe/The Record Man
