Barbara, I believe that there is a book available for sale at the DeSoto Library that is specifically dedicated to the history of Vineland. If I'm not mistaken, it's written by Norma Hoelzel, the same person who wrote the Blackwell Missouri & Beyond Book and the book on Valle Mines.
