Butler, 67, of Potosi [Washington County], formerly of Festus [Jefferson County], died June 11, 2001, at his residence. He was born Oct. 10, 1933, in Crystal City. He was preceded in death by his father, Chester Edward Butler. He was a truck driver, served in U.S. Navy for 11 years, and member of First Baptist Church of Festus-Crystal City. He is survived by his wife, Gloria "Jean" (nee Jarrell) Butler of Potosi; mother, Velma Theresa (nee Morison) Butler of Festus; daughter, Debra Ann Butler of Las Vegas, NV; son, David Wayne Butler of Greenville, RI; brothers, William "Bill" (Sharon) Butler of Festus and Bruce (Deborah) Butler of Bloomsdale; sisters, Norma Butler of Festus and Wanda (Wallace) Laffoon of Chesterfield; two grandchildren, Michael James Butler and Frederick Butler. Visitation was Tuesday at Vinyard Funeral Home, Festus and today at noon at First Baptist Church, Festus-Crystal City. Funeral services will be today at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Festus-Crystal City with Dr. Richard Adams officiating. Interment, Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, Crystal City.
