Can anyone add any more information on this family? Carolyn Wilburn Medlin Jefferson Democrat Newspaper 18 May 1877 Obituary HAMILTON--At her mother's in Hermatite, Mrs. Cyntha Hamilton, of pneumonia, after five days of illness, in the 23rd year of her age. She left a husband and two small children, one 3 years old, the other 3 months. She came to her mother's for a visit, expecting to return after a brief stop. How strange yet full of compassion are the ways of Providence. Dying in the embrace of a mother, she leaves her darling children to nest where she fell asleep. Sister Hamilton connected with the M.C. Church South, six years age, and lived and died in fellowship with the same. Mr. Hamilton has the tender sympathy of al that know him in this unlooked for calamity. The children for the present are left with her widowed mother, whose hands were already full, but sister Pinson has so creditably situated herself in this community that we feel God will bless her in this now and trying bereavement and charge. In the midst of love we are indeed in death. Her funeral was conducted at the M. E. Church, May 6th , by elder Shepherd, of the Christian Connection, who gave an appropriate address to a large audience-- subject: Resurrection of the dead." "Shall we gather at the river?" Oh yes, fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, and darling children, one and all, "shall gather at the river." Friend.
