Here is some info on William Mothershead who is the ancestor of lots of Mothersheads in Jefferson Co. He came from Va via Warren Co Ky, as did the Long and Baker families. There was a lot of intermarrying with them, and also with the Wiley family (which came from guilford Co NC via Maury Co Tenn.) I have not really followed down any of these lines, as my Elizabeth Mothershead was fairly early.
