    3. Dick Whitaker just sent this email, which shows my ggrandfather George MOTHERSHEAD in the household with John Mothershead and Ann MOTHERSHEAD (nee MURRELL). Thank you Dick! His message follows. Susan in Rochester I have a copy of the 1870 census for Jefferson County, Mo. On page 2 it shows John Mothershead age 34 , a miner Ann Mothershead age 33, keeps house Charles Motherhead age 12 attends school Lucy Mothershead age 10, attends school Lewis Mothershead age 08, attends school Martha Mothershead age 05, attends school George Mothershead age 04, at home Thomas Mothershead age 01, at home I hope this helps.     3. Here is some info on William Mothershead who is the ancestor of lots of Mothersheads in Jefferson Co. He came from Va via Warren Co Ky, as did the Long and Baker families. There was a lot of intermarrying with them, and also with the Wiley family (which came from guilford Co NC via Maury Co Tenn.) I have not really followed down any of these lines, as my Elizabeth Mothershead was fairly early.
