    3. Marianne, Have you tried the online marriage records for the St. Joachim Catholic Church in Old Mines? It's located in Washington County, but not far from the Jefferson County line. I believe a lot of Jefferson County and St. Francois County residents were married there as well. In fact, I had a great-grandmother from Jefferson County who was married in that Catholic Church. The records online are from 1821-1899. Here's the link: http://www.rootsweb.com/~mowashin/joachim-m.html Also, the marriage records of St. James Catholic Church in Washington County are online as well for period 1827-1904. http://www.rootsweb.com/~mowashin/james-m.html The baptism records for both these churches are also online, as well as burial records for St. James. Good luck!
