I stopped by Simpson's Hill Cemetery today & here are those stones that remain. There are many more buried here. They used just stones to mark the graves of many & the stones remain, but the identities are long ago lost. There may exist records that place people here, but no way to find out just where in the cemetery they are placed. This cemetery has been neglected for a long time. Mary Williams / December 24, 1844 - November 25, 1895. Henry Williams / August 16, 1871 - July 5, 1900. John Williams / December 28, 1876 - October 5, 1886. Mayfield ( Just a bottom base stone is here with this name. Someone has removed the headstone with the interred information ) Hanah Adiine or Adline Davis / March 18, 1859 - December 5, 1877. ( There are a few stones around this grave & a crypt. It leaves one to believe that these are other members of the Davis family. John R. Davis / 1827 - October 8, 1864 is buried here, but no stone bears his inscription. He was killed by members of Company B. 47th Missouri Infantry near Maddox Mill on the Big River.) Mary McCulloch / December 16, 1829 - May 26, 1899. James R. McCulloch / Died January 23, 1885 in his 55th year. L.J. - Husband of E. Henry / February 28, 1848 - August 14, 1891. Hulda May - Daughter of L.J. and Emily Henry / Died March 10, 1885. 10 years, 2 months. Mary A. - Daughter of L.J. and Emily Henry / Died May 20, 1885. 3 years, 5 months. Wm. Paul - Son of L.J. and Emily Henry / Died July 22, 1884. 2 months, 11 days. (Emily may be here also, but I could not find a stone marked with her name.) Hester Wilson / January 30, 1832 - February 14, 1913. Isaac E. Wilson / August 16, 1834 - July 2, 1891. James Wilson / December 15, 1855 - May 19, 1894. 38 years, 5 months, 4 days. ( There are probably more Wilsons in this part, because some are big stones that are off the base & I was unable to lift them back up. There could be other names etched on the bottom of these stones. ) Henry Pruett / Died November 8, 1884 in his 55th year. Desoto Joe/The Record Man
