Dear list, I'm trying to contact the Jefferson County Clerk's office about current fees for ordering death certificates and the phone number listed for county offices doesn't appear to be working. Does anyone have the current phone number/address for the Clerk's Office? Also, does anyone know if the information provided on the death certificate is identical to what is listed in the JCGS publication on Death Records 1883-1892? According to the 2001 Legal Directory, I have the following phone numbers which might come in handy: Clerk, County Commission (County Clerk?) 636-797-5477 Clerk, Circuit Court 636-797-5443 Recorder of Deeds - 636-797-5419 Their area code was recently changed so perhaps that's what's causing your problems.
