McGee, 53, died suddenly at his home near De Soto at 5:30 a.m. Saturday of a heart condition. Services were held 2:30 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. David Emery, pastor. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Dietrich Funeral Home was in charge. Mr. McGee was born in De Soto Sept. 23, 1904 a son of the late Jasper and Sarah McGee. He had lived in the De Soto area most of his life. He was employed by the State Highway Department. Survivors include his wife Hazel; a son, Dean of De Soto; and a number of brothers and sisters. The McGees, who live on highway 110 about three miles east of De Soto, have been active workers along that route for the First Baptist Church for the past several years. For the past three years Mr. Mcgee drove a bus for the church bringing residents of that route to services and returning them to their homes. Three years prior to the chase of the bus Mr. McGee was able to furnish transportation for those of that area who wanted to attend services but who did not have automobiles by asking those with autos to bring those who did not. He was also known to make one or two trips each Sunday morning in his own car in order to bring everyone to church who wanted to come.
