Francis R. Hyland officiating. Burial was in St. Joachim's Cemetery, Old Mines. Mahn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Schutte was born Dec. 26, 1880, at Richwoods, a son of the late John and Mary Merseal Schutte. He died July 24, after an illness of about five years, at Rose Hill Nursing Home, Festus. A retired farmer, Mr. Schutte had been a resident of Jefferson County ten years. His home was at 213 Roberts St. De Soto. He was married May 10, 1900, at Richwoods to Helen LaPee. Survivors include; Three daughters, Mrs Margaret Heob, Ste. Genevieve, Mrs. Christine Pruneau, Crystal City, and Mrs. Mary Jokerst, Bloomsdale; five sons, Vincent and Francis, De Soto, Jerry, St. Louis, Ralph, Florissant, and Patrick, Ferguson; one sister, Mrs. Martha Courtois, De Soto; a half-brother, Sam Schutte, St. Louis; 30 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Proceding Mr. Schutte in death were his wife; two sons, Michael and Stephen; and a brother, Stephen.
