If you visit the county clerk's web page (http://www.jeffcomo.org/clerk/serv/gen.html), you'll notice that all queries for genealogical research are referred to the state archives (http://mosl.sos.state.mo.us/rec-man/arch.html). However, if you wish to walk into the court house, you may be able to see the records. The Jefferson County Library, Northwest Branch has those records on microfilm, as well.
