    1. [MOJEFFER] Vite inquiry
    2. I am looking for my ggrandfather, Dr. John Vite, MD, and his family. They were in the St. Louis area from 1867 till 1870 or 1871. John Vite graduated from the St. Louis College of Medicine in March 1870. He worked at the Koch Hospital ( then known as the Quarantine Hospital) during his schooling and after graduation. This hospital was south of St. Louis and near or in your county. John Vite was married to Emma Levica Taylor Vite and they had 4 children. Emma and two of the children, Charlie and Ella, died "of eating poison toadstools thinking them to be mushrooms" in about 1869 or 1870. I have found no census record of this family in the 1870 census records nor any record of these deaths. Could anyone check your census records or death records or any other available resources to locate any information about this family? Bill Zucker Sandusky, Ohio
