Posted on: Jefferson County Biographies Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mo/JeffersonBios/28 Surname: JACKSON, HARRISON, WILEY ------------------------- William Andrew JACKSON, b: c 1829, TN. s/o Benjamin and Mrs. JACKSON. William with his parents and his siblings, moved to Caledonia, Washington County, MO. between 1832 and 1834. When Benjamin and Mrs. JACKSON both died, Oct. 1847, William and his siblings, Martha Jane, James Monroe, Melvina, Emily D, George Washington and Lucinda E. JACKSON removed to DeSoto, Jefferson County, MO and was living with a Lucinda EVANS, age 66, born in VA. William JACKSON married first, Palina (Paulina) Elizabeth HARRISON, (July 22, 1853.) Palina was the daughter of George W. and Jemima ______ HARRISON. According to the 1850 census, Jefferson County, Missouri, Palina E. HARRISON was 18 years old, her siblings were, William J, 16, Josiah R., 15 years old and Sarah J., 11 years old. It is not known if Palina died or if she and William were divorced, but June 12, 1861, in Jefferson County, he married Narcissus Ann WILEY. Her parents were Eli and Lucin(d)a (MARS) WILEY. The 1860 Census, Central Township, Jefferson County, shows William A. age 30 with the following children: Lucinda age 17, (his sister,) George B (Benjamin?) age 6, Chase age 4 and Margaret age 1. Are these his and Palina's (Paulina) children? The 1870 Big River Township, Jefferson County, Missouri Census, shows William A. age 40 and Ann (Narcissus) age 32. Children listed with them are: Benjamin (Could this be George B?) age 16, Oscar (Chase/Charles?) age 14, Elizabeth age 7, Burnside age 6, Kate age 5, Sheriden age 4 and Lucy age 1. It is believed that William A. JACKSON is the same person as Capt. William A. JACKSON who joined the 80th Regiment, of Enrolled Missouri Militia and was commissioned June 12, 1863 and vacated his commission March 12, 1865. But there is no proof that they are one and the same person. It is unknown when and where William and his wives, died or are buried, or what happened to their children. marykell@aol.com
