    1. Re: [MOJEFFER] YATES family
    2. Janet Snyder
    3. Greetings...... I'm connected to the YATES family thru the Theodore Cowper MYRICK, B: June 6, 1856, Kentucky, D: September 16, 1935 and Alice Myra COULTER, B: September 1, 1858. D: October 4, 1957 line. So far I have not come across a Elias YATES in my research. Most of my research has been thru the census records. I have lots starting with Jonas YATES, B: April 20, 1799. I would like to hear from anyone researching this line. Thank you. Janet Desoto Joe wrote: > Barbara, I received your information today, thank you. I will keep my eyes > open for Elias Yates grave. 1. Re: [MOJEFFER] Johnson Family-Jefferson Co., MO 1860-1940
    2. Oops- In the 1870 census record that I send earlier, Catherine Ahlvers is listed as 45 years old and not 55 as I hurriedly wrote. Sorry about that, I think everything else is correct. I looked again through the 1870, 1860, and 1850 censuses in Jefferson County, and Hiram Johnson (or anything close) is not in any of them. I did however, find him in the 1907 Jefferson County Directory, in De Soto: "Johnson, Hiram, stationary fireman, r. 3rd Street, p.o. DeSoto" Rick Waggener

    1. Re: [MOJEFFER] Johnson Family-Jefferson Co., MO 1860-1940
    2. Ed- There are no Alberts on the 1870 census in Jefferson County, but I think I found Louisa listed under Ahlvers. From the 1870 Federal Census of Jefferson County, Missouri, Central Township, Hillsboro Township, taken July 18, 1870, household #298: Ahlvers, Peter; age- 55, male, farmer, real estate- $700, personal property- $150, born- Prussia, parents foreign born Catherine; age- 55, female, keeps house, born- Prussia, parents foreign born Elizabeth; age- 17, female, no occupation, born- MO, par frgn brn John; age- 13, male, works on farm, born- MO, par frgn brn Louisa; age- 10, female, at home, brn- MO, par frgn brn I don't find anything on this family on the 1860 census in Jefferson County. I did find Hiram and Louisa in the 1880 census however: From the 1880 Federal Census of Jefferson County, Missouri, Joachim Township Crystal City, taken July 1, 1880, household #478: Johnson, Hiram; age- 38, male, head of household, married, farmer, brn- MO, parents brn- MO/MO Louisa; age- 19, wife, married, keeps house, brn- MO, parents brn- GER/ GER Henry; age- 3, son, brn- MO, par brn- MO/ MO Peter; age- 1, son, brn- MO, par brn- MO/ MO Next door seems to be what I think is Louisa's mother. In the transcribed version that I have, she is grouped with John Grear (age 45, school teacher) and his wife Amanda (age 40- keeps house), but she has a different household number. John and Amanda are household #479 and listed in household #480 is: Alford, Kate; age- 56, female, head of household, married, (disabled) brn- GER, par brn- GER/ GER Although she is listed as married, her husband Peter is not listed with her or anywhere on the census. I can't seem to locate Hiram Johnson on the 1870 census. I need to get to work, and will look more later. Rick Waggener "C. Edwin Murray" wrote: > Searching for information regarding the family of Hiram Johnson and his > wife Louisa R. (Albert) Johnson.
