1. [MOJEFFER] Looking for....
2. If Sandra Mackley who was searching for information on the JOHNSON family in Jefferson Co MO is still on this mailing list, could you please email me when you have a chance? The email address on your original query (posted to this list last year) no longer works and I'm wondering if you have more info on your RYAN family. I'm looking for info on the RYAN's (Ellis RYAN in particular) who married the PIERCE family. We also have an Ida MOTHERSHEAD who married a JOHNSON, though I"m not sure if it's the same JOHNSON family as yours. Would like to find out! Thanks for everyone's help this past year...with a special thanks to Patty and all her helpers for our great Jefferson Co Gen site. Wishing everyone a wonderful Holiday Season, and a fabulous New Year! Jo Ann / jcat2@aol.com http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jcat2/

2. Jeff, You don't need to have deleted something accidentally to find the option of searching the list archives very helpful. RootsWeb Mailing List Search: MOJEFFER <http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl?list=MOJEFFER> Select the year you wish to search, add your query (i.e. Hildebrand) and see all the messages that have covered that topic :) Most of the Rootsweb lists have been archived and searched similarly. 3. Posted on: Jefferson County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mo/Jefferson/390 Surname: ------------------------- Jeff- I have transcribed versions of the 1880 and 1870 Federal Censuses for Jefferson County, and can not loctate any of these names there. There do seem to be some variations in the spelling of Hildebrand, but even the variations don't seem to match. This could mean I am missing them, or perhaps they were actually living in an adjacent county. Rick Waggener

Posted on: Jefferson County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mo/Jefferson/388 Surname: Hildebrand ------------------------- I am looking for my great-great grandmother's family. Her name was Mary Elvina Hildebrand born April 20, 1874 in Jefferson Co. Missouri. She married Louis Shanks in 1893 in Gatewood, Missouri. She died on February 9, 1960 in Tryon, Oklahoma. On her death certificate it lists Henry and Clara Hildebrand as her parents. Her obit lists a brother named Ed Hildebrand living in Sand Springs, Oklahoma at the time of her death. I have been unable to find any info on her family. Her parents were probably born around 1850, and might have moved to a surrounding county after her birth.Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

3. Dave: Are you still looking for the location of Adams Cemetery? There is an Adams Cemetery that's located North of BonneTerre in St. Francois County which would be just south of the Jefferson County line. I've been there a couple of times. The cemetery is located 3.8 miles north of Bonne Terre off old Highway 67. There is a sign on the gravel road to the left (or to the right if you're coming south from Jefferson County) that says "Adams Cemetery". The cemetery is approximately 1/4 mile at the end of the gravel road. If I can be of any further assistance, don't hesitate to contact me. I have a list of the persons buried in that cemetery. Was there anyone in particular that you're looking for information on? 1. [MOJEFFER] MO MUrrells
2. Pat Mata
3. Please read a bit of history about the following families, Murrell, Taylor Foy and Sims that later were located in the Ripley Co MO area that appear to have migrated from north parts of MO. I am trying to find which family leads to William A Murrell born in 1820 in MO .. Especially interested in Hordey/Hardy, Briggs, Sam, Isaac, James, Eli and William Murrell that were in MO 1819 to 1830 in WASH, ST, and Wayne, Mari, counties.. or any information about where they might have been.. I am seeking any information on the families that were in Limestone County in early 1800. Some were there as part of the Sims Settlement, others may not have been. Benjamin Murrell b 1760-d 1835 in Weakley Co TN. Wife Mary Sims, and children. Appreciate any information on this couple, children and movements before and after signing the Intruders Petition in 1810 in AL. ASA Taylor also of Limestone Co and area. Who were his parents, children, wives. Simon Foy and wife Charlotte Sims, sister to Mary Sims. Their children, including Lucinda Foy. Also signer of Intruders Petition, and moved to Weakley Co TN by 1835, where were they between 1810-1835? And the Murrells, William, Richard, Isaac, and Benjamin, all signers, of the Intruders petition. Any other Murrells that might lead to information about William A Murrell born about 1820. William A Murrell first is located on the Ripley Co MO census in 1850, with his wife Lucinda FOY. Where were these families between 1810 and 1850? Did some of the families remain in AL that might have bibles or other documents that would identify their siblings, and ancestors? Some of the families migrated to Weakley Co where some were founders of the Knob Creek Church near Dukedom, TN. Later Asa Taylor and Simon Foy moved to Graves Co KY. Simon Foy died there. Asa Taylor moved to Randolph Co AR near the MO state line and founded the Glaze Creek Church with some of the Foys and Johnstons where were in or descendents of the Limestone families. MY main interest in in the Murrell/Merrel/ Merrell/Murel/Meril/etc. family and finding the parents of William and or his siblings. The family appears to have become separated before the Civil War and never got back together. I have not been able to locate any information to know which Murrell line he belonged. Per the census reports which list William A Murrell he was born in MO. Per family bible he was born December 24, 1820. There was an Isaac Murrell in MO in 1830. Also, in MO in 1830 Eli, Hordey/Hardey , Briggs, Sam, and James Murrells. I have not been able to identify their families. There was a William Murrell in MO by 1819-1826, but because MO was not a state until 1821 information fragmentary. Is this William one of Benjamin's children or grandson or the William Murrell signer of the Intruders petition. Patricia Murrell Mata pjmm@tcac.net

2. Joe McClernon
3. Posted on: Jefferson County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mo/Jefferson/385 Surname: McClernon ------------------------- OK. I figured it all out. The elder Hugh McClernon listed in the Jefferson county 1880 census is the Hugh profiled at: http://198.209.8.166/pastpres/mcclernh.html The profile notes that the family lived in St. Louis (really Crystal City) for three years before moving to Greene County Missouri where Hugh's decendents still live today. So, they were only moving through when the 1880 census captured them on paper. Amazing. If you look at the profile, you'll see that this missing link not only helps me identify my great/great grandfather, but his father and grandfather as well. Great stuff!!! Posted on: Jefferson County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mo/Jefferson/379 Surname: Austin, Honey, Williams, Seabor ------------------------- Darlene, I don't know whether this info will help, but since some of the names are in my family ancestry I will tell you what I have. My gr. gr. grandfather, John W. Honey married, as his third wife, Mary Seabor Austin. After his death she married Charles Williams in 1837 in Jefferson Co. They had two children that I know of, but do not have their descendants. Perhaps the Mary Sebor Honey and Henry Austin you mention are descendants of his.
