    1. [MOJEFFER] Hale
    2. I have four family members who all died in 1890 and are buried together at the Pilgrim's Rest Cemetery in Jefferson County, MO. David Hale the father was 65 years old, his wife Nancy was 50 years old and their two children, Amanda E.Hale was 22 years old and their son Arthur E. Hale was 21 years old. This seems curious to me that all four would die in the same year and possibly the same day. I only have an exact death date for David Hale which is April 20, 1890. I'm wondering if anyone knows of church records on this family which might indicate the cause of death or if anyone knows of epidemics or other illnesses which may not be considered as an epedemic such as diptheria. All of their names are on the same gravestone in a large family plot. Any help to solve this mystery would be greatly appreciated. E-mail me at SWLowe1234@aol.com Thanks so much, Jeanie Hale Lowe Illinois

    3. Posted on: Jefferson County Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Mo/Jefferson/402 Surname: Blackwell, Moon, Pinson, Cole ------------------------- Lisa, Blackwell Station is what the railroad station was called at Blackwell, Missouri. In fact, the town was often referred to as Blackwell Station instead of just Blackwell. Blackwell may have been considered as part of Jefferson County, Missouri, at one time, but it is located in St. Francois County which is located just south of the line dividing Jefferson County and St. Francois County. In fact, my grandmother's maiden name was Blackwell. She was a descendant of Jeremiah Blackwell who was the recepient of the original Spanish Land Grant on which Blackwell, Missouri was established. There is a wonderful book called "Blackwell Missouri & Beyond" which is available for sale at the DeSoto Public Library. It's almost 300 pages in length and tells all about many of the families who settled and lived in and around Blackwell in the 1800's and early 1900's. In particular, the families of Moon, Cole, Pinson, and Blackwell were very prominent in that area. There are also many pictures of what Blackwell, Missouri looked like in it's glory days. Unfortunately, all the businesses have left Blackwell today and it's not much more than a ghost of its former self. There are houses still there, but not much of anything else (no school, post office, stores, etc.). The trains still pass through Blackwell, but they no longer stop there. I have an album on Webshots of photos which I took of Blackwell and surrounding area this past year which you might be interested in viewing. Below is the link to my album which I've entitled BLACKWELL, MISSOURI & SURROUNDING AREA I hope this helps you out. If you need any further information, just let me know, and I'll try to help you out. Bettye Link: Click here to view photo album of Blackwell, Missouri. Professional Genealogists have been aware of the frauds of Mr. Anjou for many years now. ALL of his works are frauds. He was not a genealogist but a forger who served prison time in Europe before he came to this country. His only published work "Ulster County, NY Probate Records" contain valid wills and totally unacceptable abstracts that he himself created, most out of thin air. His other works were compiled privately and all are frauds. We have much Anjou information and also some data on some of the other famous fraudulent writers located on the web site at; http://www.linkline.com/personal/xymox/ Go half way down the page and enter the Fraudulent Lineages pages through the link there. One large genealogical library has over 100 of his frauds and many professionals believe there may be over 2,000 throughout the genealogy community. Try to remember any line that does not contain A1 sources is probably wrong!!! This applies to any published works by anyone. The very best of a productive New Year to you all.
