Posted on: Jefferson County Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Mo/Jefferson/411 Surname: DAVIS, CLARK, BITTICK ------------------------- Once again I'll throw this out. Lookng for Jefferson Co. CLARK, or surrounding area. MARGARET CLARK married JOHN DAVIS in J. C. on 28jun1827.His parent's are JAMES and SARAH DAVIS. MARGARET and JOHN had seven children. 1) SARAH who may have married FRANCIS BITTICK on10feb1848 2) MATILDA who married a) JOHN W. WILSON 1dec1850 b) SAMUEL T. GREER,ca1867 3) CHARLOTTE ELIZABETH, who married a) JOHN WIDEMANN,26oct1856, b) R.M.EVERETT 4) WILLIAM CLARK 16apr1837-11oct1895 who married ELIZA JANE BITTICK ca1840 5) SILAS 11mar1842-18apr1885 who married MARY ANN PREWITT 1841-1904 (jc mar records says PREWITT, one researcher I found says PRUITT) on4Aug1859 7) HETTY JANE ca1849. In the 1860 census there are two other children living with them who weren't in the 1850 census, I'm guessing the were a nephew and neice, GEORGE, ca1841 and NANCY,ca1854 Would like any info you would be willing to share on any of these people but am most interested info on DAVIS, CLARK and BITTICK families.

It appears to me that if a person were to put the surname in the subject area of their message, in caps they would have a better chance of having it read. I for one, have no intention of reading through the whole digest details to scan for surnames I may be able to help on. Just a thought. Greg Rehme

Hello! I received some additonal information from Robet Hildebrand in Lansing, IL, concerning my Pyeatt-Hildebrand connection. I have several requests for information which I will list at the end of what I do know. If you're really not that interested in what I know about this family, you could skip down to the list and see if you know anything or could do a lookup that might help. Thanks so much! Marianne NANCY PYEATT b: 1800-1810 d/o JOHN PYEATT/PIATT. She was married to ISAAC HILDEBRAND, Jr born c1806 to ISAAC and MARGUERITE HOUSE HILDEBRAND. The Isaac Hildebrand Sr family lived at Marais de Liards (St. Ferdinand, St. Louis Co.) and purchased land on Big River in 1805. We know that Nancy and Isaac were married before Aug 1826 though we have no marriage record for them. I doubt that they were married earlier than 1824. The children of Isaac and Nancy: daughter Hildebrand b: 1825-1830 James D Hildebrand b: 1829 m: 25 Jul 1850 Edithy Herrington b: 1828 Margaret Hildebrand b: 1832 Olive Hildebrand b: 1837 Isaac Hildebrand III b: 1839? m: 6 Dec 1857 Mathiah Wilson Margarite House Hildebrand (mother of Elizabeth; Abraham m: Bassheba Wilson; Isaac m: Nancy Pyeatt; Michael; Charles, John A, Katherine, David, Mary, & Margaret) married second, MICHAEL NULL. Also of note, one of Margarite's daughters was married to HAMILTON WILLIAMS who purchased property from some of Nancy's brothers and sisters (their portion of their father's estate) in 1845 in Jefferson Co, MO. Book C Jefferson County, MO deeds pg 185: Land sold for auction --non-resident, non payment of taxes. Assessed to Isaac HIldebrand heirs in Twp. 42 & 43, Range 3 & 4. Owed $. 212 acres taxed in 1828. William Russell purchased this tract and 3 others for $30.51. Total of 2,500 acres in 1830. This could be explained by the fact that 'The State of Missouri' was the Plaintiff in action against Isaac Helterbrand in Bk 5, pg 711, paper #3186. This probably means that charges were brought against Isaac and that he was 'sent away' and his family was having to make their own way and were unable to pay their taxes. It might explain why Isaac could not be located as a head of household during the 1840 census period. We know that Isaac (husband of Nancy) died before 1845 when Nancy Hildebrand, widow, sold her share of her father's property in Jefferson Co, MO. This deed also claimed that all of the parties lived in St. Louis, Ste. Genevieve or Jefferson Counties in Missouri. Isaac and Nancy's daughter, OLIVE HILDEBRAND, was living in the household of Nancy's brother, WILLIAM PEYATT on the 1850 Jefferson County, MO, federal census. Also, Nancy's son, ISAAC HILDEBRAND III, was living with DAVID B NULL b: c1825 and his wife/sister NANCY NULL b: c15820. Others in that household were SARILDA J NULL</b> b: 1844; MITELDA C NULL b: 1846; and SILAS M NULL b: 1848. There is a record of a Nancy Hildebrand who married WM. H. EAGLESON 5 Feb 1852 in St. Louis, MO, who might be the same Nancy, widow of Isaac. The question here is, where was Nancy during the 1850 census? I do not locate her in Jefferson County, Missouri, although, it is more possible that she was living in St. Louis County at that time. **************************************** HERE GOES MY 'WANTED' LIST: Jefferson County Cemetery Inscriptions for the above named persons Any further information on children of Nancy Pyeatt and Isaac HILDEBRAND 1850 census of Jefferson Co, MO abstracts - Nancy Hildebrand and any of her children (possibly living with NULL; WILLIAMS; HOUSE; PYEATT etc families) 1860 census of Jefferson Co, MO abstract - Isaac and Mathias WILSON HILDEBRAND (possibly living with WILSONS) Jefferson County Circuit Court Records - Book 5, pg 711, paper #3186 State of MO vs. Isaac HILDEBRAND Jefferson County Newspapers - Articles on 'crimes' committed by Isaac HILDEBRAND 1860 census of St Louis Co, MO - Wm H EAGLESON and wife Nancy
