    3. Posted on: Jefferson County Queries Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/genbbs.cgi/USA/Mo/Jefferson/10479 Surname: MAHN, LAUFF ------------------------- Do you know George MANH's decendents. I'm tracing Kathrine MAHN b.10 OCT 1872 in Prophets Town, IL (m. Henry LAUFF 20 Feb 1900) d. 19 Nov 1969. Kathrine's father was a horse/cattle trader and later the ferryman at Lyons near Prophets Town. She had a sister, Sister Euphamia, a nun in Quincy, IL (I believe). She also had two brothers: Frank, who lived for many years in Rock Island, IL; and John in and around Springfield, MO. John had a son, John, and three daughters (Alice, Angela and Hazel). I believe Alice is still alive. Angela passed away in Nov 1997 at age 102. Two of Kathrine's children, Clara and Joseph, have died. Neither my dad, Joe, nor my 94 year old uncle remembered their mothers parents' names. Do we have a possible connection?

    3. Hello all, I am looking for any information about the Murrell line. Is there any one out there that has Murrells in their line? Or has books that might have information about this line that would do look up and give me a report when they have time. My gggfather William A Murrell was born December 24, 1820. Per census reports in MO. I have been unable to locate where or who his parents might have been. Looking for any information on this line or any one that I might contact. They may have traveled with Parish, Foys, Taylors, but just who they came to MO with is unknown. William was a chair maker and furniture maker, a Postmaster and JP. He settled in Ripley co MO after 1850. I believe he had siblings but do not know what happened to them. I know that there were Murrells in ST Louis Co in 1830 but have never had any contact with any one that has any information on them. Are there any old Orbits, Marriage or Will information available? 3. I am looking for the decendants of Great Aunt Georgie Lowe. She was born in Marion County, MO on Nov 7, 1882 and died Mar. 10, 1942. She was the daughter of George Lowe and Louisa Roach. She was married to Press Carr and had two children named, Delbert and Lillie Carr. She then married Millard Medley and had two other children named, Gene and Ruby Medley. She is burried in the Weaver Cemetery near Rush Tower where she lived many years. I knoe Delbert used to be a mail carrier at Rush Tower. I went to school at Rush Tower in the late 30s and early 40s. On bad days, I would go to her house and await my father to get me. Question: Does anyone know the whereabouts of any of these children or their decendants. George Lowe was the father of my grandfather, Ira Delbert Lowe. My name is Ray Lowe.... Thank You ...

    3. Jefferson County, Missouri Marriages Volume 1 is now completely abstracted with a full name index. It includes 741 marriages from 1881 - 1885. Jefferson County all marriages from 1826-1871 and 1881-1885 are abstracted also African-American marriages from 1866-1878 are abstracted -- also -- also -- also -- also -- for Crawford County all marriages from 1828-1871 are abstracted and for St. Francois County all marriages from 1813-1887 are abstracted and for Washington County all marriages from 1815-1937 are abstracted also African-American marriages from 1865-1875 are abstracted Just click on http://vienici.com/abmomarr.html to bring you to a single page of links for the abstract indexes. The indexes have links to the abstract pages. You can also Search the site for surnames. Keep your eye on the site. New marriages are being abstracted continually. NOTICE: You could be a big help to me. I have been indexing marriages for months now, in four different counties. I have twice asked for the Jefferson County, Mo. GenWeb site to include a link to the Marriage Index page on my site. As with other counties I have abstracted, I included direct links back to the County GenWeb site. The shared link is helpful in building traffic to the Marriage Pages and what I think is a useful service. Jefferson County GenWeb is the only site which has not reciprocated, nor have they even responded to my requests. ** Would you write the County Site Coordinator Patty Frazer and request a link be established ** mailto:pfrazer@flash.net ** You help is tremendously appreciated.

    3. I recently received information on one of my long standing brickwalls. John Jones b 1811 IN was married to a woman named Ellen b SC. I have never been able to find a marriage record. I've since been told that Ellen is the daughter of Peter Williams and Mary Ann Ogle. This seems to make sense if Ellen came in the migration of the Williams/Ogles to Jefferson county. Can anyone confirm this and possibly point to data on the Williams/Ogle lines. This data came from films of Myrtle E. Gunderson which I understand may not be that reliable. Any help is appreciated. Mike

My Pinson ancestor married into the Adam House family of Washington County Missouri. I believe there were also Turleys in our ancestry but have not been able to confirm this. They attended the Providence Baptist Church in St. Francois County and are buried in the Germania Cemetery across the road from the church. I am interested in the "Blackwell Missouri & Beyond" book you mentioned. Where is the DeSoto Public Library and how much is the book? Would be interested in corresponding with you.

    1. [MOJEFFER] Elizabeth (Vineyard) Wilkson Butler
    2. Charles L. Wilkson was the second child born to Emily Goza and James Michael Wilkson. Charles and his wife, Elizabeth Vineyard lived in Festus, MO. Charles died when his son Bartholomew (Bart) was twelve years old. A few years after Charles'Death, the family moved to Bonne Terre, where Elizabeth operated a boarding house. Later Elizabeth married W. L. Butler. Elizabeth became known to Bart's children as "Grandma Butler". Elizabeth divorced W. L. Butler and went to live with Addie Bowman's family. When Grandma Butler was losing her eyesight, Uncle John Wilkson kept her from going blind by paying her doctorbills. I'm working on the Wilkson family history. Contact me at joetrans@aol.com if you are interested. I have a photo of Elizabeth Vineyard that I can e-mail if interested. Joe

    3. I live in Washington so can't attend but I may have some information of interest. I descend from the Vineyards through Annie Vineyard and John William Wilson. Christian Vineyard (Jr.) the son Christian and Christina is buried on the Wilson homestead near De Soto. I have a transcript of headstones from the Wilson family cemetery. I have photos of most of the headstones listed in the transcript. I also have photos of some descendants of Annie Wilson. I hope you get a good turnout. 1. [MOJEFFER] family cemetery

    3. Hello, I just wanted to share this with the list. I have looked almost a life time for this cemetery. I have lived here moved away and back during this time. My dad showed me the cemetery about 20 years ago but we did not find these graves. This time could not find the two Parish graves that my father and I found some time back. The trees are large and the briers are many. There are definite signs of at least 22 graves. My father felt there were at least 50. The sight may be 200 years old. Some of the trees that have blown down in storms or cut were 35-40 inches across. Sadly grave robbers had dug into my great grand parents graves leaving their shovel near by. Even this will not over shadow the joy of being able to find and document another Murrell! The dates of their birth match the information found in the old Murrell bible. Harvey Murrell parent's were William A Murrell and Lucinda Foy. I do not know who William's parents were; he was born December 24, 1820. Lucinda was the daughter of Simon Foy and Charlotte Sims. (Charlotte was the daughter of Bartlett Sims and Elizabeth Parish). Josie was the daughter of George Taylor and Jane Grissom. Josie was the granddaughter of Asa Taylor. The Taylor, Murrell, Sims, and Foys were in Limestone Co AL early 1800's. Sims Mary Sims, Charlotte Sims' sister married Benjamin Murrell I have been trying see what relationship William A Murrell might have had with the Murrells that were in Limestone Co AL. If any one has any connection to any of these families that could assist in that I would appreciate hearing from you. Still looking for the Missouri-Murrell family William belonged to... can any one help? Keep on looking....things do happen.
