Index to wills of Jefferson co. 1872-1921 does not show any Pyatt/Pyeatt. Index to Probate records, no dates shown, lists one Pyatt, John, case # 406(that must be very early) sorry Mary Ann Subject: [MOJEFFER] obtaining estate file Date: Tue, 24 Jul 2001 11:25:53 -0700 (PDT) From: Marianne Pyeatt <mcpgene@excite.com> To: MOJEFFER-L@rootsweb.com Hello again, I can't keep my mind on work! Do any of you know if I could call Jefferson County and find out if they have a will or estate file for William D Pyeatt who died March 5, 1912? Would they be able to check for me and let me know how much money to send them for copies, etc? Is there anyone who lives there locally who could call and find out for me and then email me? I would certainly appreciate it! Marianne in Arkansas
My name is Ray Lowe and I am looking for the decendants of my uncle Clifton M Lowe. Cliff married Sarah Peoples and there are four children. Clifton C., Connie Sue (Bahr), June, and Tim. Clifton M. worked at Pittsberg Glass for many years. He and Sarah are burried in Jefferson Barracks. I have lost track of the children. It is believed they are married and living in Jefferson Co. If anyone knows of these children, please let me know... Thank You very much... Ray

Yes!!! Thank you!! Can you tell me, if Xavier and Michael were brothers? Was Magdelena (Mattleina) born in the United States? I know that she spoke both French and German, but the French language was easier for her to speak. Who were her brothers and sisters? Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Gloria Naes Schumer
After posting my message I checked my files and found a Mattlina Arnold b. 12 Nov 1864 daughter of Michael Arnold and Margareta Schwartz. Mattlina married John Neese 15 July 1884, Arnold, MO. Hope this helps. Rita
My Xavier Arnold did not have a daughter named Magdalena, however his brother Lewis did. She was born Oct 10, 1883. Xavier's second wife was named Magdalena Roesch. As far as the church, I don't know the location. Rita
Isn't the church you are looking for just underneath the water tower of the City of Arnold? I am looking for the parents of Magdelena Arnold, who married John Naes. Is Xavier her father? Thank you. Gloria Naes-Schumer rschumer@sheltonbbs.com
It's so easy to find previous mesages from this list, including all those cemetery inventories that DeSoto Joe did. They are preserved! Just go to: http://searches2.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/listsearch.pl and type in the name of the list -- MOJEFFER and click Submit Query In the next screen, enter Charter, and click on the little circle for 2001. Or if you want to search for any other word or phrase, just enter it there. Voila! BTW, Congratulations, Marianne! Enjoy! Desota Joe did a lengthy listing of stones in the Charter Cemetery. Perhaps he'll respond so you can get your questions answered! Jerri
Does anyone have anything on Arthur MORSE at whose home my William D PYEATT died in Mar 1912? I am guessing that he is probably a son-in-law or such. Please contact me with any information, census abstract, etc.
Jefferson Democrat, Hillsboro, Jefferson County, Missouri Thursday March 14, 1912 PYEATT - W. D. Pyeatt was born Feb. 4, 1831, and died Tuesday, March 5, 1912, at the ripe age of 81 years and 1 month. He was married in 1853 and joined the chuch in 1857, and had lived as consistent life ever since. He leaves a wife who has been his faithful companion for many long years. There was born to this union twelve children, eight of whom are living. One of the oldest citizens of Jefferson County is gone, across to the land of rest. May God bless his bereaved companion and children. What has been their loss will be his eternal gain. "The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord." R A BOYD In the PLATTIN section: William Pyeatt died last week at the home of Arthur Morse and was buried at Charter Cemetery.

Hi Jo, Thanks so much for your note. Wm. was my GGF; I know nothing about him except that he moved to Mo. from Va. or W. Va. He married Mary Alice Goff, ( her second and I think, his second marriage) They had one child, my GF David Edward Cain, b. 8-21-1891 in DeSoto, Mo. Other than that I know nothing and I am praying for any clue as to their ancestors and or relatrives, etc. Thanks for any insight that you might be able to offer. Best David E. Cain, Fayston, Vt.
Hello, I realize you are researching the Goff family but the name of your gggrandfather caught me eye. My father's family line is Gentry...Grandmother Gentry said her mother was Sarah Cain married to a C. Nicholson.(In TN,MS or AL) Was your gggrandfather's mother a Gentry? If so what line is she from? I'd appreciate any info you can give me..particularly about the Cain family. Hope to hear from you, Jo

I'm in search of my families history, any info would be helpful. My grandparents resided in Desoto off Highway Z, their names were Clyde L. and Clara M. Pate. They are both deseaced now, him in June 1976 and her Oct 1994. They are both laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetary. If anyone has any info that could be helpful *PLEASE* post it here or e-mail me. I have no other info to go on, I don't even know their parents names. All I know is that their parents resided in MO, as well. And Clyde father worked on the MO-Pacific Railroad. Please help. Thank-you! P.S.) Is the Desoto Public Library on-line? I'm in the state of Virginia, so I don't know.
I have just read your 1999 message. I am researching the Holdman surname. My husband is a descendant of Wm. A. Holdman & Emaline Hammack.
Thought I’d make a list of cemetery articles I have completed for Jefferson County, Mo. cemeteries. All can be viewed at the De Soto Library or the Northwest Branch at High Ridge. If you haven’t been there in a while you may not know these articles are there. Due to the size of the files I am not able to attach them to e-mail. A sample of them can be viewed at http://www.rootsweb.com/~mojeffer/jchs/index.html I also maintain a database of cemetery locations and research cemeteries only in Jefferson County. If you know the location of small family type cemeteries please send me the location. Chances are I already know of it but I don’t want to miss any. If anyone has information on the Cooper Family Cemetery located off West Four Ridge Road please contact me. This cemetery was supposed to have had 9 monuments. When I visited it had two left. I need information on the other 7. I am trying to locate my grandfather's relatives. My grandfathers name is Lyman Orville Thomas. I believe his family came from Bloomfield Missouri. My grandfather came from Missouri and lived in Buchanan Michigan. I believe his fathers name was Albert Moses Thomas but I am not sure. I can't find anything on my grandfathers family and seem to be stuck. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you-Lori Thomas-Arend
