Some researchers are good, but assume to much without clarifying they don't have the proof. It may or may not be correct. Sometimes it can also indicate that somewhere in the book/books, it is also in another place, or the explanation or proof is available. There should be something, maybe in the 1st book of the series that explains that notation. It's been a long time since I've looked at any of these books.
