He and my grgreat grandmother were married on 17 Oct. 1867 in Jasper CO Mo. Unsure if it was Joplin or elsewhere. They have three children John, Ella, Eddy. Sometime between 1872 the birth of their last child and 1879 when Rachael Catherine Cook Short marries Jeremiah Arnold in Benton Co Mo. John dies his father Charles Washington Short's will dated 20 Oct.1879 states John is dead. I would love to find out when and how he died.
