Yes, they may have divorced, but they may have also remarried. The certificate has him married, Rilma as his wife's name, then has the informant as Rilma Wiggins. It might be possible that the two Rilma's are not the same person. But the certificate, you would hope, would be correct that he was actually married, at the time of his death, to a Rilma. Since you have the death date, place of death and circumstances there should be something, if not an obit, in the local papers, such as Carthage and Joplin. http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~mojasper/genie.html I do know the Joplin Public Library Reference librarians did check their obit listing and microfilm newspapers and they were not very expensive at the time. I paid one dollar for a scanned obit sent in an email. I believe the snail mail rate was the same, however postage has gone up even more now. They have changed/updated their web site. http://www.joplinpubliclibrary.org/ Contact Us JOPLIN PUBLIC LIBRARY 300 South Main Street, Joplin, MO 64801-2384 Phone: Main: 417-623-7953 Reference: 417-624-5465 Fax: 417-624-5217 Email: jpl@joplinpubliclibrary.org Orlena ~~~~~~ Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
