Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/1MB.2ACI/1915.1 Message Board Post: Kay, Sorry I can't give you info on how to contact anyone who may have info about your GGrandfater, But while in the military I was stationed at a radar bomb scoring site that was placed on a large pile of rubble from a lead/zinc mine just West of Oronogo Missouri. The water filled pit remaining from the mining days was a well known scuba diving area for scuba enthusiasts because of its' tremendous depth. Oronogo is about 8 miles North of Joplin, Mo off of hiway 43 (I assume the hiways are still located the same as they were in 1967 when I was last there). I believe there was also some mining around the Webb City area as well. You could probably contact the Joplin Chamber of Commerce or the Historical Society to get more specifics. Good luck, P Graves
