I have been working on the Jasper Co site, it has a new look and more resources. Biographies I have gathered are still waiting to be put online, some are already up. The current project I am working on is the 1925 Joplin City Directory. Anyone willing to do transcribing, making copies for our transcribers, doing research is needed! Visit http://www.rootsweb.com/~mojasper/volunteer.htm to sign up! Please let me know if there is anything you'd like to see added to the site. Renessa Lewis List Mom
I am writing in the hope that someone will be able to tell me if there are published records for the Bethel Church in Barry Co. Actually, was there more than one church named Bethel? I have received 376 pages of William Cannons Civil War Pension Records. Many Barry Co. names are contained therein. William Cannon was a resident of Barry Co. from about 1850 to his death on March 30th, 1886 near McDowell, Barry County, Missouri. James H. and Benjamin F. Kennedy of Barry County, Missouri testified that they became acquainted with said Cannon on or about June 1857 at Bethel Church in said county, that the said Cannon was ordained deacon of the church when they were members and continued in membership til the conflict of the late war necessarily separated them. Any help you can give me will be deeply appreciated. Suzanne
I'm sorry. I posted the previous message to the wrong list. Suzanne
