Ann, Thanks for your help. As to the Davis family. My gr grandfather was Charles Wesley Davis, and my gr. grandmother was Hattie (Conquest) Davis. I don't have a lot of info on Charles Wesley Davis, so really don't know what his parents names were. Can you give me more info there? Maybe we can connect somewhere. As to the pictures, any you get that you think would be pertinent for me, I'd love. Even just old pictures of Joplin. I was born there, but we moved to CA when I was 4 years old. So my knowledge of Joplin is really just from my visits there over the years, and what my grandparents, Uncle Francis C. Davis, who lived there all his life, and my mom told me. Thanks again for your answer. Margaret
Margaret, I don't have a lot of info on the Widemans. My son is the one that was doing the research. I have bits and pieces because they keep crossing my side of the tree. Lucy Wideman b. about 1767 in Granville Co., NC and died abt 1835 Missouri. I have not proven this info it is from my son and a website. Lucy had a son, James, by a Davis. Lucy married a John Pruitt. Besides that I know very little. I have a Rebecca Davis married to a Solomon Copeland b. abt 1773 NC, d. 1882 TN; this is also not proven by me. They had a daughter Sarah b. abt 1799. Sarah shows up in the 1860 census for Miller Co., MO and in the 1850 Osage Co., MO census with her second husband, Ezekiel Blanton. I have other Davis names. I will list them here and if any are familiar I will give you what info, if any, I have. Alice A. Davis, Clarence J. Davis, Cora Davis, Ed Davis, Laurie B. Davis. These Davises are mostly from St. Francois and Ste. Genevieve Co., MO. If there is anything else I can help with, please let me know.
