    1. [MOJASPER] Real estate not in probate records
    2. My G-grandfather died in 1873 in Jasper County where he owned several hundred acres of farming land. The inventory of his estate, with a certification and affidavit made by the administrator, lists many items, including such things as a rifle, revolver, saddle, notes, cash on hand, etc, but there is NO mention of the real estate. And yet there is a statement attesting to the fact that the "forgoing" is a full inventory and description of all moneys, good, chattels and estate, real and personal ....etc.. I just can't understand how they could ignore the acres of land. The fact that there was land in the estate was later evident in the courts because the court appointed 3 commissioners to "appraise and set out and off" the homestead for the widow and the minor children. They appraised 240 acres, however the Court of Common Pleas set of only 140 acres. Does anyone have any idea why the acreage wasn't included in the inventory? Thanks, John.
