    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: STEBBINS, BRISBEN Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/1MB.2ACI/1962 Message Board Post: Trying to locate anyone researching George STEBBINS, b. Feb 1840. Wife Elizabeth, b. Aug 1853, Joseph C., b. Jan 1878, Ruth, b. 1880 or Reuben J. STEBBINS (an uncle). George (per 1900 Jasper Co., Census) was born in VT, father b. NY, mother, b. NY..... Elizabeth, b. Canada or Eng., mother, b. Eng., father, b. Scotland. George was a stone quarry operator in Carthage. I think that Ruth, b. MO (daughter of George and Elizabeth) may be the woman I have a photo of that has "Miss Ruth" written on it. (See attachment on query or write to me for web address of photo) I also think Miss Ruth may have married James P. BRISBEN, sometime after 1909 in Carthage and before 1918. Ruth Stebbins BRISBEN was listed as the Administratrix of James Brisben's will. There were two boys from James' first marriage (first wife Rose, died in 1909.) the boys went to Indiana to be raised by their Aunt and she became their guardian. Family lore is that after their father died, the boys did not get along with their step-mother and ran away to Indiana. Any help would be appreciated. Linda
