I found my ggg-grandmother on the 1860 slave schedule for Sarcoxie Township. Sarah Motley owned 4 slaves, 1 man age 50, 1 woman age 45, one man age 26 and one woman age 24. There is a column that says "fugitive from the state", and everybody except the man age 50 has a number in that column. Does that mean the number of years since they'd run away? - Heather
