    1. Re: [MOJASPER] 1860 slave schedule
    2. Heather, 1850 Jasper County Slave Schedule Sarah Motley male age 40, female age 37, male 16 and female 15. Based on the sex and ages, it would appear that these were the same four slaves you found in 1860. Column 6, fugitive from the state, is blank in the 1850 Jasper County Slave schedule and in the other 1850 schedule I have read. I did not read 1860 Jasper but the Lawrence Co. slave schedule for 1860 has a number of check marks in that column, some are next to the names of children. This column was blank or not used in the 1860 Newton and McDonald County slave schedules so I had not attached any significance to the rather random check marks in the Lawrence County schedule..until you posed the question. Long answer, I do not know the meaning of column 6. Bill Landers Cape Cod, MA

    2. MB Counts
    3. Greetings everyone, I've just come across some new info in my search that led me to this site/list. I'm looking for info on George F. O'Connor who married "Maggie" Margaret Almeda Witt (maiden name) Basnett (first married name). They were married in Webb City on March 22, 1906. George lived in neighboring county Cherokee, KS, Scammom and Empire City with the Winn family as a child. Any info/connections would be greatly appreciated. Best of luck to all in your searches! MaryBeth
