Can anyone tell me what "G Hunter" stands for? My first thought was Government Hunter...Then I thought because of the era Gold Hunter... ie. men gone to CA in the gold rush...but that would only explain where an absent member of a household WAS...not his occupation...Although I think that's where my GG Grandfather John PATRICK was, while his family stayed behind in Jackson Township. How about Game Hunter?
