Apparently the school I mentioned was very closely located near Joplin Children's Home which was an orphanage, but they are two different entities. Recently a newspaper article in the Joplin Globe indicated that by contacting the Joplin City Clerk who has all the surviving records from the childrens home in her possession, you may be able to find out information about your family members. I found my family members dates of entry and dismissal, and parents names, and other siblings names and dates from the Joplin City Clerk. The city clerks office phone number is 417-624-0820, and if you prefer to write, the City Clerks address is: 303 E. 3rd, Joplin, MO 64801. Good luck!
