Jamie Dixon WEST b. 30 Jan 1895 - OK married: 17 Nov 1915 Jessie Myrtle STIPE b. 16 Sep 1897 They had 7 kids - Marjorie, Irene, Mary Maxine, Jamie Jr, Doris (my mom), John Howard, and Gordon Dean. Grandpa Jim was an artist of landscapes, still life, and portraits. He also painted a mural on a wall in a Joplin restaurant. He sang and wrote songs. He was on radio in Pittsburg, KS on KOAM; Springfield, MO on KWTO; and Joplin on WMBH. One time someone sowed turnip greens on the Court House lawn in Carthage, and he wrote and recorded a song about that. It was popular around the local area at the time. I am searching for a picture of him. He passed away when I was 10 yrs old, but I remember him very clearly. Please contact me at freeway@uia.net if you remember him. Thank you. Tommy
