    3. Have you tried the Joplin Globe Archives? http://www.joplinglobe.com/archives/ They say it's down right now, but I'd expect it might be up later today. - Heather http://surgerysupport.uchicago.edu/hblair/ On Wed, 1 Mar 2006 [email protected] wrote: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Surnames: Hartzell,Huddleston,Braddock > Classification: Obituary > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/1MB.2ACI/2954 > > Message Board Post: > > I'm looking for an Obituary for a Donna Huddleston born Aug 30,1944 died May 22,2005 in Joplin,Missouri. > Thank you. 3. Heather Since she mistakenly said the person died in Joplin, I looked there first. All they had was a Death Notice, very brief with little information. I did find the obit in other online newspapers. http://tinyurl.com/h4ayg Donna C. Huddleston found 1 result. . . Oklahoma Published: 2005-05-25 - Joplin Globe Joplin, MO Donna C. Huddleston JAY, Okla. — Donna C. Huddleston, 60, a homemaker, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2005. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Eucha Cemetery, Eucha, Okla. Arrangements are under the direction of Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home, Jay. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Joplin Globe Obituaries are in a different archive. http://www.joplinglobe.com/obits/ It is checkable from the obit page, back through 2003. The same with their Death Notices. http://www.joplinglobe.com/deaths/ The archives that are down are the news and sports archives, or supposedly everything except the obits and death notices. They can be down for days. Hopefully, they are getting a more friendly usable search system. If you don't want something by date, I've found it almost impossible to find anything. http://www.joplinglobe.com/archives/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Most of the queries from Message Board and Mailing List, reach the mailing list archives where we can find them. http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/MOJASPER/ This way we can better keep track of the information that is being given from both Mailing List and Message Board. Since her query came from the Message Board and you answered on the Mailing List, unless she has figured it out or been told, she will NOT see your answer. Check below in query between the ********************* where it says Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/1MB.2ACI/2954 Click on the URL to go to the message board and see the queries and answers there. That's also where we are supposed to answer a Message Board query. We get their queries, they do NOT get our mailing list answers. I've suggested a link from the Message Boards to the Mailing Lists Archives, but I get told they can't or won't do that. It's like this email they use. Most basic kind I've found. No matter what I do, underline, italics, large, bold or color fonts, when it gets back to me via the Mailing List it's gone. In some cases when I used the copied and pasted information from a site, It came back looking terrible. I have to remember to go to note pad, and see what it's going to look like when it get's back to me. There, I try to make it look halfway decent, and paste it onto the email for the mailing list. There are so many different emails and they work in such different ways, what goes out from me looking great in my email, arrives at someone else's email and looks absolutely nothing like it did in mine. Maybe that's the reason for their basic email. Suggestions, I may have, but I appreciate the fact they are still available to us and most of the time they work. I wonder if some things have ever been updated since they started? Maybe they think "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" A good day to all of you on the mailing list.
