Our Sheffler line goes back to John K. Sheffler, who was born in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania in 1818. Unless I am reading your message incorrectly, that was before your Nicholas arrived in America. John's father, also named John, was born before 1800 and also in Pensylvania, we're told. He and his entire family, except for John K., were said to have massacred by Indians in 1840. Wish we could be more help, but it appears it may be a different line. Good luck in your search.
