Does anyone know of an UTT cemetery? Kirk FIELDS was born 1901 <Christian co,> MO the eldest of 5 children of Charles Henry FIELDS and Doshia BROTHERS of Joplin, Jasper co, MO. Kirk FIELDS and a friend, Howard UTT, both age 20, were working the wheat harvest in Wichita, Kansas when they were robbed, beaten and placed on the Santa Fea railroad tracks and run over; their bodies were mutilated. Howard UTT was identified by his wife and Kirk FIELDS was identified by his fiance's friend. He is burried in the UTT's cemetary plot. Because of the illness of his father none of the family were able to attend. And then his father passed away right after his burial the same day. I can not imagine what Mrs. Charles (Doshia) FIELDS must have gone through, losing her eldest son and husband within a week. Kirk's father, Charles "Henry" FIELDS b Aug 1878 died at age 43 in 1921 and is buried with his wife in Forest Park Cem, Joplin, Jasper, MO. He worked in the mines at Webb city, Jasper co, MO where his brother Issac (IKE) M. FIELDS was killed in a mine explosion 23 Apr 1908. Henry caught tuberculosis while working in the mine. Many miners got consumption from each other while working in confined quarters. Charles, with his wife, Doshia, and 5 children (Kirk, John, Marie, Harritte (Harriet) and Dorothy), lived in Joplin, Jasper co, MO. Please contact: Mary K.
